Modern life demands constant movement. Our calendars are so busy we never find time to stop and receive. Come to a full pause in New Mexico. In the state of stillness, the frenzy fades and the answers arrive.
Statewide Standstill
In hopes of spreading stillness to the masses, New Mexico will enact a statewide Standstill for one hour every other Wednesday. Local businesses will be subsidized so they, too, can experience the benefits of being still.
Radio
Still Here
New Mexico will commission artists to create installations during the “Standstill” that mimic hand-carved caves found in the state’s desert. These monoliths will live in the busiest cities, untouched by surrounding hysteria, reminding us that unaffected is better than unhinged.
The DiStillery
For those seeking stillness, New Mexico will create The DiStillery, an experiential hotel and spa that serves to transition you from your former frenzied state to a new, old way of being still.
Social
It’s Sunday night, and the travel bliss is replaced with the reality of another frenzied week. You could cry and quit, or reach for your phone and let our feed transport you back to a place where the outside world is on pause.
Postal Pause
To pause a world constantly on play, New Mexico will create postcards featuring photos from The DiStillery disposable cameras. The postcards paired with limited edition stamps are a signal to the world that you’re making your own break.
Still Thankful
Upon arrival, The DiStillery will provide visitors with disposable cameras to document their journey into stillness. At the end of their stay, they’ll develop those photos and recreate your trip through a personalized thank-you package from us to you.
